I would love to continue this work but shift it to a darker, more story-driven performance.
Idea Development.
The initial ideas that came to me from the thicker bunnings plastic revolved around references like American Psycho, Dexter, and the horror genre. It looks like something someone might wear to stay clean while disposing of a dead body. Potentially I could arrive on stage in a business suit with my plastic body bag and straps. Rigging up of the apparatus could depict a gruesome murder or carving of a body, where I become covered in blood. Music could be classic stabbing or chainsaw sounds. Skills execution could then lead to an unsettling happy song to contrast what has just occurred. The ending could be getting back into my suit and carrying on with my day in a nonchalant style.
What meaning would I want this work to have? I feel like this is somewhat symbolic of all the atrocious things that happen in the world. People are aware of what is going on but move on with their lives regardless, stepping over the real problems.
